Christmas PartyThanks for the Tea Party
The following messages of thanks have been received for the very successful Christmas Party held in the Memorial Hall on 28th December. 'A big "thank you" to all who arranged such a lovely Christmas Tea on the 28th December. "Tea at the Ritz" would not be an understatement - cakes, sandwiches, sherry, tea and entertainment! Wonderful!" A really thoughtful thing to do too, as I am sure it was the highlight of the Christmas week for a lot of those present. "From the Residents of Cleaveside Close, thanks to the Committee and all the people involved in this lovely event. The cakes, sandwiches and drinks were all perfect, as was the entertainment, the children, and the cast and 'voice' of the Little Red Riding Hood characters. A great deal of hard work had obviously gone into the preparation and presentation of the part, so well done, and Happy New Year to all involved." Tea for Two at the DorchesterHorticultural Show August 2012
All the faces (old and new) and all the exhibits at this surprisingly well endowed show, just goes to show how clever some of these green fingered peeps are.

NEW YEARS DAY DOG WALK 2013The New Year Dog Walk took place in the most perfect weather which was greatly appreciated by the 26 humans and 19 dogs setting out from the Memorial Hall on January 1st. To say that the going was soft was an understatement - squidgy, squelchy, slippery, slithery, sloppy, slip-sliding mud was the order of the day. The humans trekked on valiantly enjoying the rare sights and feel of sunshine and the dogs delighted in splashing through mud, thick gooey puddles and mini lakes. By the time we reached 'Woodpeckers' for soup, rolls and mince pies, both dogs and humans were feeling well exercised and, later, 19 'brown' dogs were recovering from baths and smelling very much sweeter than a few hours earlier. A cheque for £105 has been sent to the Dog's Trust - very many thanks to everyone who contributed so generously.

Rolling Presentation 2011
The Village Market & Craft Fair 25/2/12
The Memorial Hall was packed to capacity with artisans, crafters, preservers, insect house makers, wood turners, faux furriers, hamper compilers, authors, nurserymen and jewellers plus more besides. The Tombola was magnificently operated by Barbara and she alone raised in excess of £70.00; the Cafe sold more that £140.00 worth of tea, coffee, cakes, soups and baked potatoes, and many grateful thanks go to everyone who came along to help out in the kitchen, to everyone who made cakes for the Macmillan stall and the Cafe, to all the stall holders for all their time and efforts and also to everyone who came and spent their money.
Full Peal of the Bells, St Barnabas' church, 6th February 2012
It all started at 5.15pm and finished at 9pm ... EPIC!
Congratulations to all those who took part for endurance and accuracy; I have it on good authority that not a bell was tolled out of place. If you have any photos (before and after would be good!) we would love to display them.
