Environment Group

In 2005 the people of Queen Camel, through their Parish Council, produced the Queen Camel Community Plan (known usually as 'the Parish Plan') in which they identified ways in which the parish could be improved.   A number of groups of volunteers seek to bring about these improvements, and the Environment Group is one of these.

The group's members strive to improve both the residential and rural public areas within Queen Camel so that everyone enjoys living in and feels a sense of pride in their village.  Everyone can play a part in this, and there is always a big welcome for anyone who wishes to help on one of the many community initiatives that this group organises: litter picking (which would cease to be needed if litter ceased to be dropped), weeding of public edges during the growing periods, planting bulbs and other plants, clearing footpaths and repairing stiles to keep them accessible for our walkers, and even cleaning graffiti (something else that would not be necessary if idle hands found something else to do). The group is also always please to receive ideas.
