Cars, speed and parking in the Village.
After reading the Village magazine this month, thoughts on parking with the new school, I felt now was the time .
If one thinks about it -what could be a better way of getting cars to slow down then something obstructing the route - if cars are allowed to park along the road outside the school it will make all traffic slow down and cost very little to instate -just some paint and a bit of time. If we carried this theory to the High Street, in my opinion it would work the same way - parking on both sides of the street with gaps along the way for cars to make their way slowly down and through the Village . I find walking to the shop or anywhere alone the High Street a very unpleasant experience as car travel through the Village.
Before you think 'Oh! - it is young drivers!' -it is far from that, it is ALL age groups form all walks of life and more often people that live in the Village.
We could all help by travelling at the speed limit (or slower) and this will force others to do the same . Next time you are driving through the Village just look at your speedometer, and just remember the 20 mile zone, and this for the whole zone , not just the little bit in the middle.
Lets see if we can make Queen Camel a more pleasant place to live.
