The FULL PEAL started at 5.15pm, although I have to confess I did not start listening until 5.45. I had thought that it would last for a couple of hours, but it went on until 9pm! Quite a feat to say the least. There must be some very fit and energetic people hanging about in bell towers to keep the bells ringing for so long and there is no slacking; a campanologist cannot just pop off for a cup of tea or a pint half way through, once you've started you have to keep ringing through to the end.
Congratulations for a job very well done and thank you from all the villagers who enjoyed hearing the bells on that wet Monday night.
